Technology
Another indication on how greatly influenced Uganda is by Western society is the number of cell phones in use. In 2011 there were over 16.697 million cell phones in use in Uganda thus ranking it the 53rd highest cell phone usage country, only 10 positions behind Australia who came in at 43rd with 24.49 million. Cars and motorbikes have also become very popular and the number of them on the roads is increasingly by the year.
Internet usage is another Western feature that has become increasingly popular in Uganda. There are over 3.2 million internet users ranking it the 66th highest internet using country. Australia came in 25th but in comparison to how long each country has had possession of internet capabilities and how much money they have had to spend on it, 66th is remarkably high.
